It happened. Ive converted into my mother and in all probability yours too. I suppose Im not totally surprised. It had been inevitable but I have to be honest; I really was under the illusion that Id be a cool parent. The untraditional type that might let the kids explore and stay the free spirits that they are intended as. I vowed never to be the one to use clich phrases like Because I said so. Im not going to lie, a child inside me remembers how dismissive and hurtful it had been to listen to it nevertheless the adult I am now totally gets it. Sometimes there are just not enough answers to suffice curious minds and because I said so is the only thing that fits. I am talking about really? Why cant they watch television until bedtime? Id prefer to show my 4 year old its since it stimulates his brain and keeps him up past too far but I choose because I said so because its the most effective explanation.
